We invite you to have an extraordinary experience in Guadalajara Mexico this summer and coming fall. Mexico is an incredibly large and diverse country. With Guadalajara located in the centre of the country, the city ranks between Mexico’s three most important, and it is home to some of the nation’s most important cultural symbols (mariachi, tequila, the hat dance and Mexican rodeos). Among its main draws is the magnificent architecture of its historic and religious buildings, in particular that of the Hospicio Cabañas, which houses murals of artist Jose Clemente Orozco and was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO.
Advantages of attending CEPE in Guadalajara:
The Foreign student Study Centre (CEPE) is located in one of the most exciting and stimulating neighbourhoods in Guadalajara between the historic city centre and the neighbourhood “La Minerva”, a City landmark. Students can easily walk to a variety of delicious cafes and restaurants, art galleries, museums, rhythmic nightclubs, gorgeous modern movie theatres, as well as banks, grocery stores and other helpful businesses. The neighbourhood is considered one of Guadalajara’s safest and most cosmopolitan. Our carefully selected home-stay families and bed and breakfast are also located within this secure and charming neighbourhood.
Though students can find everything they could possible need in the blocks around CEPE, students will also find that exploring other neighbourhood's of Guadalajara is quite easy to do. A ten to fifteen minute bus will take students from CEPE to the gorgeous historical centre of Guadalajara where they can visit important historical sites, wander the markets and sample cheap and authentic Mexican food. Museums abound with discounts for students carrying a CEPE student ID card. Just fifteen minutes in the other direction and students will find themselves in attractive Tlaquepaque, an artisanal neighbourhood where students can people watch, buy traditional goods and of course eat Guadalajara’s famous tortas ahogadas! With current exchange rates, Guadalajara is one of the most economical places WHERE a student can study Spanish. With the US dollar valued at around 13 pesos, the Canadian dollar around 11 and the Euro at an amazing 19 pesos, students can enjoy a high quality of life here in Guadalajara. Students will find day-to-day life quite inexpensive and travelling to nearby regions on the weekends easy, affordable and safe.
With an international airport located just outside the city, travelling to and from Guadalajara can be achieved with ease. Students can fly directly from many cities within the USA and Canada. With minimized travel time, students arrive in Guadalajara fresh, excited and ready to take on the challenge of learning a new language!

Influenza A H1N1 in Mexico
The Influenza A N1-H1 is getting under control, the numbers of deaths are drastically reducing to 0 in the last days, and Jalisco is not one of the States with an important number of cases. The Government has given permission to open all the public spaces, and normal life has been restored.
Because of all this, I recommend to come to Guadalajara and enjoy a great summer & Fall program!
